Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS) was used to provoke increased skin roughness. The skin was treated with MATRIGEL® and the result compared with a pre-damaged, untreated skin. The result: after treatment with MATRIGEL®, the skin is significantly softer and smoother.
Effect of MATRIGEL® on Transepidermal Water Loss (TEWL)
Examination of the skin's transepidermal water loss after pre-damaging with SLS (sodium lauryl sulfate) confirms the normalizing and extremely protective effect of MATRIGEL®. After treatment with MATRIGEL®, the skin is much better equipped to defend itself against external stress factors than untreated skin. The protective effect lasts for days.
