Enthusiasm and assertiveness
Diana Ferro appointed CEO by Dr. Suwelack Skin & Health Care AG
August 2008 // In future, the Westphalian company Dr. Suwelack Skin & Health Care AG will be led by Diana Ferro. Appointed by the Supervisory Board, Ferro as CEO will be responsible for the on-going global expansion of the business in medical and cosmetic biotech products. Hitherto, Munich-born Ferro had been Head of Global Marketing for Kinetic Concepts Inc. (NYSE: KCI), market leader in the field of wound care services, with headquarters in San Antonio/Texas, where she made a major contribution to the company's worldwide growth.
"Her international management experience and excellent knowledge of the medical technology market, particularly on the wound care sector, brings us prominent reinforcement", is the pleased reaction from Wolfgang Suwelack, Chairman of the Supervisory Board at Dr. Suwelack Skin & Health Care AG, who continues: "Diana Ferro comes across as being ideally prepared for her new task which entails leading the further global expansion of our business in medical and cosmetic biotech products. I am convinced that she will not only continue but also accelerate the successful course of Dr. Suwelack Skin & Health Care AG with her enthusiasm and assertiveness."
Ferro's leadership methods are based on management by objectives, delegation and team work, including in particular promoting a success-oriented corporate culture. "Delegating responsibility promotes every single member of staff. This is the only way for us to be successful in a team as partners and on eye level with each other", declares the dainty but energetic manager. She sees staff development and promotion as a strong foundation for the company.
Ferro regards Dr. Suwelack Skin & Health Care AG as a highly innovative company and wants to establish contact swiftly with customers and users in both business areas (medicine and cosmetics). Following what she refers to as an ideal childhood in Italy, she went to school in Munich, followed by a degree in business management in Berlin and Hamburg. Her first jobs in Hamburg were in strategy development and mergers & acquisitions at the European Specialty Group and 4sigma. During this period she found her commitment to medical technology, and moved to San Antonio and Amsterdam for KCI. Ferro is now looking forward to enjoying the rural beauty of the Münsterland and to her task in Billerbeck, where she will be aiming for every success with her highly motivated team.
